Easily our favorite byproduct of Shot By Kern, aside from increasing support for our "Bring Back the Bush" pet cause, are these outtakes Richard sends us after each shoot. Basically anytime you see his flashing going off from the front, he is in effect ruining a perfectly good Kern photo by including the pronouncedly un-Kernlike subjects of our cameramen Dana and Bernardo. (Bernardo’s also the show’s editor and does all the Mexican interviews, just so you knows.)
We kind of secretly hope that someday Richard will make a series of these shots, but for now we’re just happy picking them up from the cutting room floor and looking at them with an unsettling mixture of laughter and mild arousal.
