Apologies for the lack of Kern posts. It’s been a busy few weeks in Albion. Over the coming weeks, Jim and I will be posting some oldies from our trip; Keep your eyes peeled. Here are a few teasers from one of the Antwerp shoots. We heard people were getting pretty upset with us for denying girls of all stripes a shot behind the camera. Looking back, it’s true: we were only shooting hot single headed girls. To assuage our detractors, we found these siamese twins prepared to go all out with us.

Sorry I’m backtracking a bit now, but we missed a load of girls. This is Giulia (pronounced Julia), a Sicilian living in Milan. She was great… a reserved, yet bubbly chainsmoker who listened to the first QOTSA album on repeat while we were getting set up, which qualified her pretty heavily in my book even before seeing her naked…

Antwerp is a strange yet beautiful city. It’s very tranquil, which is something we haven’t been used to on this trip (though it’s not surprising for a place with a population of 12.) Jim and Kern stayed in a hotel where the receptionist goes home at 8 PM (and which also smelt like babies according to Richard) and I stayed with Doris just across the river. Here is what Antwerp looks like on Doomsday.

The girl we shot today, Erica, is an Indonesian from Rotterdam, Holland. Hardly any of the girls we shoot are actually from the city we’re in.
She was rad to the power of sick. Here she is casually showering while two grown men videotape her. Pretty standard, really.

I have to apologize, I’ve been too busy filming unterhosen to update this blog properly. I’m gonna try get up to date ASAP. We’re in Antwerp now, and tomorrow we’re getting two rock chicks stoned and taking them to frollic in the woods in their pants [British for ‘panties’ – Ed.]. Suffice to say i’m still kind of enjoying myself.
I have, I think, three or four batches of screengrabs to put up from the last few days but I’m going to start with Bianca, our last girl of Berlin, just because I happen to have some shots of her on the desktop. She is half-German, half-Spanish, and a trainee masseuse in Majorca. (Shotgun rules apply.)

Pegah is a tiny Iranian lady who used to intern at our New York office, then moved to London where she does something for us called “DOPing”. This week, instead of beating the shit out of cops like her countrymen, she is hanging out with Richard Kern as he takes pictures of naked Italian girls for our upcoming European season of Shot By Kern . She’s also been trying to keep a secret photo blog of her trip, but thanks to our powers of deductive googling, we uncovered her little diary and have now subsumed it into the bulbous, Akira-like monstrosity that is the VBS blog. Easily our favorite byproduct of Shot By Kern, aside from increasing support for our "Bring Back the Bush" pet cause, are these outtakes Richard sends us after each shoot. Basically anytime you see his flashing going off from the front, he is in effect ruining a perfectly good Kern photo by including the pronouncedly un-Kernlike subjects of our cameramen Dana and Bernardo. (Bernardo’s also the show’s editor and does all the Mexican interviews, just so you knows.)
We kind of secretly hope that someday Richard will make a series of these shots, but for now we’re just happy picking them up from the cutting room floor and looking at them with an unsettling mixture of laughter and mild arousal.
