Looks like Brazil’s well-toned Larry Flynt-alike Oscar Maroni, has been thrown in a casa grande brasileira (the pokey). Last week Maroni was charged with human trafficking, “gang formation,” and facilitating prostitution—which might be a little tricky for him to duck considering he’s called his hotel a ‘deluxe bordello’ in São Paulo’s biggest paper. You’re probably thinking, Where does a country whose entire economic foundation rests on whores and drug armies get off accusing an extremely wealthy pornographer of being too much of a lech? Well, turns out Senhor Maroni was only arrested after his ex-girlfriend Vivian Milkzevski dropped off a bundle of photos and video tapes showing him beating her, setting her up in a drug sting, beating her again, stealing her car, and finally hoisting her up by the neck and flinging her Hulk-style into a chandelier. Oops. Maroni claims the tapes are doctored, which, if it were somehow the case, would make Vivian Milkzevski hands-down our favorite video forger since this kid.

On Thursday, VBS spends the day with Brazil’s leading pornographer and statesman, Oscar Maroni. Oscar’s rise to the top of the smut trade is the first literal rags-to-riches story we’ve ever heard. At the tender age of ten he found a box of discarded women’s underwear and began peddling them to the ladies of his favela a la Bubs on The Wire. From that simple pantystash he has built his empire.
