FAQs
How to subscribe to a show?
And what does that even mean, ‘subscribe to a show’? It’s not like you’re sending DVDs to my house or something. Explain the deal please.
We are very glad you asked about this. The way subscriptions work is this: Any time a new episode of a show you’re subscribed to goes up on VBS the show will appear in “My Shows.” That way instead of having to scramble all over the place to figure out what you’ve missed, it’s all in a neat little area just for you. There’s also a number counter at the top of the tab that keeps track of the number of unwatched episodes you have.
To subscribe to a series, first you have to be logged into your user account. Then click the ‘subscribe’ link on any show listing.
Or under the “Now Playing” tab you should see a big gray button that says “Subscribe.”
I'm sick of this subscription, how do I kill it?
Same as above, but as you will notice, the “Subscribe” links now says “Unsubscribe.” EZ-PZ.
What's the difference between playlists and favorites and how does each work?
Favorites is for storing your favorite videos (hello?) for repeat viewings. Playlists are more of a Limbo-esque waystation where you can save a video you don’t want to watch right away (say for instance you’re busy watching another video) before deciding whether to favorite it or toss it back onto the heap.
To add a video to either your playlist or favorites, click the little gearbox next to the video listing and select either “Add to Playlist” or “Add to Favorites.” If you’ve already done either and want to undo the dirty deed, click the magical gear-box once again and either click “Remove from Favorites” or “Remove from Playlist.”
How do I manage my playlist?
To add videos to your playlist, find the episode you’re after and click the link in the bottom right corner that says “Add to playlist.” To remove a video, go to the “My Playlist” tab, click the little blue gear-box next to the show you want to remove and select “Remove from playlist” from the pulldown menu.
How do I update my email alerts?
Click on the “My Account” link at the top right of the screen. Under “Preferences” you should see four check boxes next to different email options. Screw with those to whatever your heart desires. Beneath “Preferences” is a separate check box for the weekly VBS newsletter. Click that guy to sign up.
What's your submission policy for ideas or videos?
We’re sure you’ve got a bunch of stellar ideas for new shows and interesting subjects that VBS could cover, but due to a bunch of legal reasons we aren’t entirely keen on, we cannot accept any unsolicited pitches or videos. Sorry. We agree it’s lame, but them’s the breaks.
If you want to get in touch with us about jobs or strike up some sort of internet-friendship, email us at info@vbs.tv.

On March 9th, Acrassicauda’s long await debut album finally drops. In celebration, we here at VBS are dedicating the whole week to our favorite Iraqi metal band. As part of the festivities we’ll be airing the film that started it all in its full, theatrical-release-length glory. That’s right, we’re giving you all of Heavy Metal in Baghdad on VBS for the very first time. Oh, that’s not enough for you? How about extras from the HMIB DVD, Acrassicauda’s episode of Practice Space, and all sorts of other goodies? To get you started, here’s Acrassicauda’s music video Gardens of Stone, the Heavy Metal in Baghdad trailer, and a video recapping Acrassicauda’s crazy journey to the US. ENJOY!
