josejosejose: I love any story having to do with Atlantis.

Biff: Yeah, this is like the above water, below ground, tacky version of Atlantis.

killingmoon: the story of how they somehow persuaded the judge and police not to shut them down is pretty amazing...I wonder what weird brainwashing technique they used to pull that off

    • Banana_thumb

tallywacker: if i saw something this amazing in person i'm sure it could change my mind about a few things.

moocow: how were they able to excavate an entire mountain and build these giant temples...and then all of the laboratories? where are they getting all of this money from?

    • Shakeshack_thumb

shakeshack: I was just wondering that myself. Is the leader really loaded or something?

yoyomama: one day, thousands of years from now when our society is long gone, modern people are going to find the ruins of Damnhur and think that we were all insane

  • Electrocity_thumb

electrocity: maybe in 1975 this place made sense, but I dont see how it is still functioning today

  • Lemon_thumb

lemon: her name is Hesperides Pinneaple? I think if that was my name i would be really messed up about it

    • Nature1_thumb

kokakola: its not as bad has Monkey Tamerix. that name is worse

    • Jiminycricket1_thumb

jiminy: they're all bad. they're all stupid. but they do make some wacky temples.

  • Bugaboo_thumb

bugaboo: The founder man actually looks relatively normal... its strange. the rest of them all have some serious crazy in their eyes but he just looks pretty sane

  • Xyz123_thumb

xyz123: what are synchronic lines? are these real, recognized points, or something that the Damanhur people made up?

    • Obama_thumb

100Westend: I don't think we're supposed to understand it compltely.

  • Sweetjane_thumb

sweetjanee: they keep calling it a "social experiment" which makes it seem even creepier. wheres the kool aid?

    • Dna_double_helix_45_thumb

dblhelix: they don't need kool aid. they have the selfic technology to do that.

Lucia: You guys have been lead up the garden path to meet the fairies! This plays like a promotional video just like so many others made by independent film makers. If you really want to know what Damanhur is about go and read some of the testimonies (translated into English) by former Damanhurians who have spent 10-25 years in the place. They will make your hair stand on end. Just type 'damanhur inside out' into google and the site will come up. This kind of film coverage only encourages even more young people to get caught in their seductive net. Damanhur is widely acknowledged as a destructive cult in Italy!

TowJam: The difference is this is an objective look. The other is not. By all means, watch both, but this was enough for me to know it's not a place I want to go other than to see the place. I have no interest in joining or their "technology."

  • K_thumb

Kristenmolly: It is a cult. This is one of the dumbest "experiment" I've heard of. I'm more than he;f way through and if it was about living together where is the other races?

    • Nature1_thumb

kokakola: so your reasoning behind thinking they are a cult is because there are no other races living with them? hm. i think there are a lot of better reasons than that

    • Banana_thumb

tallywacker: yeah, and i don't know any black italians. do you?

  • Photo_thumb

thrashingmiyagi: it's a bit sad in a way for the kids that grow up in damanhur because chances are they won't get to see much outside of the commmunity. however at the same time i envy the fact taht they probably already know what they wanna do for the rest of their life. i don't think i'll ever know what i want to do.

  • Man-sitting-clip-art-silhouette_thumb

Jules: I'm glad this is on video because it's transfixing, yet I would not want to come into personal contact with the Damanhurians for fear they might work Atlantic voodoo on me and before I knew it I would be making stained glass dome ceilings.

BaconBits: those bracelets are ridiculous. they're just coiled bits of copper. they're like those chinese energy bracelets with the balls at the ends, but cheaper

tallywacker: synchonic lines? bermuda triangle? connection?

  • Naked-sushi-woman_thumb

DoucheySushi: its kinda crazy how in depth they get into each and every little thing that makes up this live-in research society

    • Roadkill_thumb

road_kill: yeah its because they are trying to justify their insanity. by over explaining it they feel like it is more legitimate

  • 005_lily-solo-dressed-up_thumb

pobodysnerfect: i wonder if they have weird rituals at night like in kubricks eyes wide shut.....

    • Tannenbifffuture_thumb

Biff: If they do I hope they are hiding the good looking ones somewhere off-screen. I haven't seen anyone here I'd like to see naked except for a mask.

    • Pig_thumb

BaconBits: yeah i bet it's kinda like an IT company. you're never gonna find a hot chick. you work there long enough, evn the most mediocre of chicks will start looking not all that bad.

    • Man-sitting-clip-art-silhouette_thumb

Jules: That's true. The annual company morale-boosting bar trip can make some of the ladies start looking not-so-bad. Most of the time the next day you're back to normal but sometimes it opens up your mind to a new idea of what might be lurking under the ladysuit.

  • Jiminycricket1_thumb

jiminy: when i saw the minicar i thought of the movie the beach when tilda swinson takes leo to the city for supplies, sticks her nasty porcelein puss on him and fucks up the rest of the movie. remember the video game part? that sounds plausible in the realm of damanhur.

  • Iceman__bobby_drake__thumb

bobbydrake: so is everybody italian in damanhur?
