anonymous: Thank you for the great work on these Powder & Rail episodes to show the history of snowboarding becoming a respected sport. This episode and the others have brought back some fantastic memories from when I began snowboarding twenty years ago. It was a weird time for snowboarding and the sport and pro riders have changed significantly since "back in the day". These guys (the riders and the film makers) completely shaped the mold for modern snowboarding. I don’t expect any of the riders that are new to the sport to appreciate or understand what films like "Western Front" and "Snowboarders in Exile" meant to snowboarders in 1989 but I realize how important they were. This is great stuff. For the new riders out there, open your mind, pay attention and try to understand what is being said here.

anonymous: anyone out there who deos not dig this mini-doc and getting a little vibe from the early day pioneers of SB obviuosly never has snowboarded and has not even one clue about how fun it is to even shread and float the pow. By the way Damian Sanders definetely killed it in the day. not even a fraction of the population could even dream of doing the things he did.

anonymous: Yo this is an open forum for discussion called the internet, so people can say whatever the fuck they want to about Burton. Burtons production doesn’t stop for pow days, maybe some of their employes in Vermont stop working on powder days, but that has nothing to do with their production. And to people that can’t stand reading any opposition to Burton I suggest you stay away from the internet because people are bound to voice their own opinions, sorry if this hurts your feelings.

anonymous: Wow, this is a pretty bad show. Snowboarding´s pretty damn sweet (ok - screw the flying tomato), but too bad it always ends up in amateur cheeseball coverage.

anonymous: it doesn’t matter what the topic is, you have to appreciate the social aspects of this story. this puts together an interesting narrative about how the medium of film influenced a slew of kids to try something new. kids that engaged in "cooler" activities like skateboarding/surfing, but were regionally positioned near mountains and cold weather - thus snowboarding is a healthy adaptation. no matter what it is, you can’t smear young adhd kids you are seek a new means of creativity. nothing needs to be said about burton unless you have physically worked for their corporation, people are acting like they’re standard oil. burton is so corporate that they stop production for powder days. they still have their fingers on the pulse, relative to most large corps.

anonymous: I would be really bummed if this series was sponsored by a ski company. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t watch it and wouldn’t appreciate it for what it was. I’m looking forward to some Craig Kelly, Jamie Lynn, Terje and def some Devun Walsh when he was on Barfoot.

anonymous: I seriously hope there will be more Canadian content with the Whiskey lads and such. I know Vice is a multinational concern now but your roots are up here. Great stuff on the neon fruit booters from Cali though.
