Monkeh82: Firstly i'd like to say that im from Swansea and no, im not a smackhead. This is a very sad story to follow and i hate to see people in this state. What have these people got apart from getting wasted every day? Why do they get wasted every day? Escapism? I dont know and probably never will. I honestly couldnt see any of these folks holding down a job, they seem too damaged, socially and psychologically. Im not saying that what they do, and where they do it is acceptable, but these people need sympathy and a hell of alot more support than they are getting at the moment. Please dont 'tear me a new one' over this comment, its just how i feel.

seemsreasonable: Sorry blueboy but are you smoking crack? Expecting the police alone to resolve the heroin problem in Swansea is like expecting McDonalds to end world hunger with a handfull of happy meals!
The police in Swansea work dilligently in dealing with those persons caught committing drugs offences and they are working with communities in weeding out those responsible for supplying the drugs. You may not be aware of this but they also perform countless other tasks unrelated to drugs and their supply such as dealing with 20,000 drunks in town most nights!
Rather than revelling in their own misery people need to take responsibility for the decisions they have made in life, grow up and start focusing on getting off the drugs and getting a job!
