Sucks that our culture is so backwards that a lot of people feel the need to revere sleaze in order to [over]compensate for the sexual repression perpetuated by the old uptight Christian men who run the United States.
But yea, I still think some of Kern’s photos are great, but I don’t know how much I can really enjoy them after seeing how it really goes down . . . it’s not regular girls being who they are without the self-consciousness about their bodies that our culture peddles. It’s strippers and girls with daddy issues who are already immersed in the sleaze culture and go to Kern thinking they’re becoming subjects of "real art."

This whole thing about being interested in the artist more than the art is just fucked, because 90 percent of people who make good art make really shitty people. That goes for the models as well as Kern. This is just a big deal about nothing and I have a hard time justifying it. It’s like Behind the Music or something, it’s okay for novelty but I’d rather listen to the record than watch and listen to some old creep who I wouldn’t be able to stomach being around in real life talk about it.
