Tokyowars: The new album will never come out. Maybe when we're all dead and our children (if we even have any) will get a chance to listen to the "new album" when the entire hidden MBV catalog gets discovered on Shield's secret basement of awesome music. That said; Kevin is incredibly charming and I want to believe him.

Wenz: It's amazing how history repeats itself. Kevin Shields explained here how everyone thought the garage band he saw was too loud, but he liked it. I was at All Points West last weekend, and all of the mongoloid TOOL fans were booing and giving My Bloody Valentine the finger because they thought they were too loud, and thought the 10-minute "noise holocaust" at the end of their show was done out of spite towards the audience. I thought it was a life-changing experience. Seeing this interview now justifies that.

smearcampaign: isn't anything is a great record on it's own. sadly it's overshadowed so much by loveless that it's semi-forgotten.

RuralJuror: Looking at him you wouldn't thing he was behind the best album of the 90s. It takes a certain level of geekiness to understand guitar pedals so well.

ninja_chimp: why is that all the people who are involved with the most important bands come across as totally normal and decent people? you see all these average bands walking with a swagger when they have done nothing to change a thing.

scratchnsniff: one of the best bands ever and one of the loudest. amazin'! im with the kid who puts them with pavement as huge influences,

dblhelix: my bloody valentine is perhaps the most important band of the 90s. i think it would be between them and pavement, in terms of the influence they had on bands that followed.

johndoe: whats all this talk about a new album? has it been released yet or what? I feel so out of the loop

wholenineyards: it's still "in the works." i hope it sees the light of day.

hiphopapotamous: eh, its not looking too good though, considering it was supposed to come out two years ago

dumdum: Its really weird putting a face to the sound... this guy is just way to mellow to be singing "soft as snow but warm inside"!

slurrp: i like how he says what makes his sound unique is his limits not his abilities...kind of a glass half empty way of looking at it, but smart

moocow: my bloody valentine having similar musical structure the ramones... fuckk. ian gets stuff so so right sometimes. he knows his music, thats for sure

tallywacker: listening to loveless is like a painkiller hottub for your brain.

TheMax: He's believably humble about everything. I think he really didn't know how big Loveless was going to be. Little did he know we would still be talking about it 18 years later. What's amazing about it is it still sounds fresh almost two decades after the fact.

lemon: alright I know I'm alone on this one...but I kind of enjoyed "Isn't Anything" more than "Loveless"

anonymous: Pretty good interview, Kevin is mostly right about about the carbon neutrality by the way. It is completely bullshit a huge scam to condition people to believe that we need to give up rights to "save the planet". Everything has a cycle, and that’s exactly what were going through right now.

anonymous: I think that this is a really good interview. Considering the choice of musicians he’s interviewed throughout this series and also considering I Svenonius’ "The Psychic Soviet" and the information age etc etc this is really, really, really good stuff. He actually asks some really good questions and, yes, some really silly ones, but it’s obvious if you’ve read around at all and are creatively inclined yourself that he knows his shit. Well done Ian, let’s have some more, please!
