newchivalry: Objective journalism is boring and phony anyway. This stuff kicks ass. My only complaint is the video players on this site--all glitchy. Its obnoxious.

thehunter2000: Mr. Smith has got balls of titanium for undertaking such a risky tour and able to take such informative footage of what's going on behind the mysterious N. Korea border. It's depressing to see that people live under such conditions and may probably never get to experience the freedom many countries offer.

Rsydner: Thank you for such an informative and interesting look into life in N. Korea. I was captivated but also disturbed--and not in the ways you or others might think. While Mr. Smith was taking a risk by filming in N. Korea, he completely lacked the professionalim of a true journalist Mr. Smith was there to show the world a peek into a closed off and repressive culture but he was also there as a representative, an ambassdor, of the West. In that role, he failed miserably. His sarcasm sarcasm (particularly in the karaoke shots), cultural insensitivity (unnessary jokes) were matched only by the sloppy and disrespectful way he dressed and interacted with just about everyone he encountered. He had an opportunity to show the true dignity and humanity of the West but instead proved to the N. Koreans that people from West are arrogant, belligerent, and completely out of touch (ironic, I know). I am frankly embarassed for all of us from the West and felt badly for the people in this video series, not just because of the repressive and almost hopeless regime under which they live, but because they were subject to Mr. Smith's mocking and disrespect.

juliakimny: i am replying as a korean here(so with all due respect to all the koreans). i thought his mocking and sarcasm put a fresh and real perspective to it. i've watched this "north korean tour" on film before but always in more serious manner. this time around i saw a regular white guy- mr. smith in it; he didn't hide his personality and didn't wear so called "professional" journalist hat on. so it was refreshing to see "a regular white guy's" reaction to this odd state.

dasnoborda: wow i'm korean (south korean, of course:P), and have never seen anything as real about north korea, or its people as this one! although what shane was shown around was all choregraphed like he pointed out, you never see this kinda stuff anywhere else! i didn't know americans were allowed there at all.. if south koreans go there, they will probably shoot our heads off...
