DidSomeoneSayDrugs: A few years back I took some (about a dozen) datura seeds. The effects were cramps and bleeding from my nose, eyes, ears, and mouth, and possibly damage to my internal organs. There were no hallucinations or pleasurable effects at all. Anyone interested in an "authentic" latin american trip should try brewing ayahuasca instead; it is easy to do (although you have to watch your diet very closely before and after, due to the MAOI), the effects are similar to mescaline/peyote and the components are easily and cheaply ordered online in the United States, although the feds are trying to make it more difficult to import. Anyone with access to lsd or peyote/san pedro cactus would be better off doing those instead, as the side effects are drastically reduced and there are no dietary restrictions. If you want to see someone delusional and out of their minds, or if you think mescaline and lsd are too weak, just watch someone smoke concentrated salvia divinorum extract. While salvia is a brutal hallucinogen (the TV *will* eat you), at least you won't have the permanent organ damage that is commonly associated with scopolamine overdose.

Frisbinator: I spent 7 weeks in Bogota about 6 months ago and don't really feel that the things said about Colombia regarding all of the kidnappings and it being the world's capital of cocaine were really relevant in 2010, maybe in the late 90's, but anyone who has done research knows that the rate of kidnappings and crime has dropped dramatically since Uribe took office. This type of exaggeration significantly lowers your amount of credibility. Bogota and Colombia in general still struggles with a lot of problems, why not focus on information that is more accurate? Also, nice job filming in the botanical gardens and from the cable car at Monserrate (two highly touristy areas) in an attempt to make Bogota appear more rural than it really is.

rhodescolossus: This video is extremely disappointing especially after watching the guide to Liberia and Afghanistan. The fear mongering and exaggeration in this film as to the lethality of this drug in plant form is nothing short of fucking stupid, I should know because these plants are all over my property (no I don't live in Colombia). Second, Bogota is nowhere near as fucked up as he says it is, and it has come a very long way from the madhouse that it used to be, so all of you who are saying "I won't be going to Colombia anytime soon" you should either a.) reconsider, or b.) act like whitey in this video and be ignorant as shit (dangerous? try any marginalized ghetto in the U.S., say Anacostia). Everything in this video is so manufactured that anybody that has travelled to the region, or very familiar with the culture and the people, know this guy is full of shit. I'll spare myself from watching anything else from this guy and move on to Hamilton's pharmocopia. The only plus is Demencia Black, now that truly is one badass name for a dealer.

USA: Who can answer why snopes.com labels similar rumors as false? http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/burundanga.asp Also, since it's used in a anti-nausea patch here in the U.S., if I take that patch (Transderm Scop), will I turn into a zombie? http://www.drugs.com/cdi/scopolamine-patch.html Too bad the reporter didn't take the drug because we are left now with no more information than when we started.

lamachina18: that drug dealer is terrifying in a 'you can't make this shit up' way. they did a good job at helping us visualize something we can't really see (eg: a chemical reaction) by exploring the setting and interesting characters. really strong doc.
